Didier Putzeys graduated in University of Louvain (UCL) (Master in Laws), and trained at NautaDutilh (Rotterdam, Netherlands), OgilvyRenault (Montreal, Canada) and Coppens (currently Coudert Brothers), becoming a Solicitor in 1986. He obtained a Masters in Economics MBA from the University of Leuven in association with Yale University in 1989. Didier became a Partner in 1994 with De Caluwé & Horsmans and Managing Partner of Putzeys & Godhaird in 1999. He used to teach as an assistant-professor at the University of Louvain (UCL) from 1989 until 1997 and has been a professor at the Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC). He has been a Board Member in New Holland and in the world-wide ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Associations).
In 2004, Didier was instrumental in the formation of Putzeys branch office of ShawnCoulson, a law firm with offices in Brussels and Antwerp as well as all around the world through ShawnCoulson alliance, especially established in London and Washington DC.
Didier is a Member of the Pharma Law Group and is an ICC Arbitrator. He is a regular speaker and writer on numerous topics, including distribution or competition law. He has been identified by the 2003/04 edition of Global Counsel 3000 as a Highly Recommended Life Sciences (especially pharmaceutical law) practitioner.
Father of two children, Samuel & Thomas.
Didier is an avid sailor but has no time to spend any more to his passion.
